Our school welcomes children from across the city and around the world. We accept children ages 2-6 for our preschool program. Here at Funcastle Preschool, we educate students to help them become inquisitive learners, adaptive thinkers and effective communicators. We strive to cultivate students’ imaginations and their thirst for exploration nourishing early development and reaching for their highest potential. We focus on the whole child’s emotional, physical, cognitive and language growth through music, art, movement, games, singing, activities and books.

Our goal is to encourage children to be independent and provide knowledge they can take with them to their next steps in life.

The Story of Funcastle Preschool: Where Futures Begin

Funcastle Preschool was born from the vision of a passionate leader—a former General Manager of a central public sector enterprise—who, after retiring, turned his focus to a cause close to his heart: early childhood education.

Understanding the profound impact of the early years (ages 2 to 6), he dreamed of creating a nurturing space where young minds could blossom emotionally, socially, and cognitively. To him, preschool was more than just academic readiness—it was about building communication, creativity, confidence, and emotional intelligence.

After exploring leading early learning models, he partnered with the renowned Little Millennium Preschool chain, and in April 2017, the first Funcastle center opened in Mather Nagar, Pathadipalam. It started small—with just 8 curious little learners, 2 passionate teachers, and 2 support staff—but the dream was big.

Growth Through the Years

2017-18: 22 children
2018-19: 48 children and a 9-member team
2019-20: 102 registrations—until COVID-19 brought an unexpected pause

But the Funcastle spirit never faded.

In March 2021, the school reopened at a new location in Mamangalam, and soon after, they launched their own independent brand: Funcastle Preschool. What began as a partnership was soon streamlined into a sole proprietorship, allowing the school to evolve while staying rooted in its original values.

Expanding the Dream

2022-23 & 2023-24: Two full academic years successfully completed, with around 55 children enrolled annually and a committed 8-member team.
2024-25: A year of expansion—with two new branches:
- Funcastle Early Learning – Mamangalam
- Funcastle Kindergarten – Kadavanthra (which later merged into the main center due to low enrollment)

Where We Stand Today

Funcastle continues to grow as a warm, vibrant community of young learners, passionate educators, and caring staff. Each academic year is filled with joy, discovery, and purposeful learning.

As we step into another exciting year, we remain committed to shaping confident, happy, and well-rounded children—one smile at a time.

Fun Castle Early Learning – Achievement

Fun Castle Early Learning is honored to be a confirmed awardee at the EGN Education Leadership Summit & Awards 2025, to be held on 28 June 2025 at Le Méridien, Kochi. This recognition celebrates our sustained impact in early childhood education—building an active, play-based learning culture with intentionally planned classrooms, the Mind Spark Curriculum, and a focus on seven key development areas (cognitive, fine & gross motor, language, personal awareness, socio-emotional growth, and nurturing individual potential). It also acknowledges our extended-hours Daycare, After-School Care & Homework Club, and our team of qualified teachers who deliver safe, caring, and high-quality learning experiences.

This award affirms Fun Castle’s mission to help every child play, learn, and grow together while partnering closely with families and the community.
